Video marketing for metal fabricators in Chicago
On-site video and drone footage for Chicagoland fab shops, sheet metal, structural steel and welding companies, edited for LinkedIn first, then Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and your website.
Your work is good. Show it.
Most metal fabricators in Chicagoland win work through referrals, repeat customers and RFQs. That works until a buyer who has never heard of you looks you up. If your website still shows the same photos from years ago and your LinkedIn page hasn't posted in months, they have no way to tell what your shop can handle.
Video closes that gap. A short clip of a fiber laser cutting plate or a press brake forming a long part tells an engineer more than a page of capability bullets. Strick Media films it at your shop, edits it and posts it for you, so your marketing keeps moving while your crew keeps working.
What we film in a fab shop
Every shop is different, but a shoot day usually covers some mix of:
- Cutting. Laser, plasma, waterjet and saws: the speed and edge quality buyers ask about.
- Forming and rolling. Press brakes, plate rolls and punching. The bigger the part, the better it looks on camera.
- Welding and fit-up. MIG, TIG and robotic cells, parts coming together on the table, structural assemblies taking shape.
- Finishing, inspection and shipping. Paint or powder coat, quality checks, parts banded, crated and loaded on a flatbed.
- Your people. Fitters, welders, programmers and the office team, only if they want to be on camera.
We follow your safety and PPE rules, stay clear of hot work and overhead cranes, and work around production. Customer parts, prints and anything proprietary stay off camera unless you say otherwise.
LinkedIn first for B2B fabricators
Your buyers are purchasing managers, engineers, general contractors and OEMs. LinkedIn is where many of them check out a shop before they send drawings. A company page that posts real footage from your floor 3 times a week shows them you're busy, well equipped and easy to work with. We lead with LinkedIn, then adapt the same footage for Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and your website. More on that in LinkedIn video for manufacturers.
The same footage helps you hire
Plenty of fab shops need welders and fitters as much as they need new customers. The footage that shows buyers your capabilities also shows job seekers what a day in your shop looks like: the equipment, the projects and the people they'd work with. We can cut a few recruiting clips from the same shoot day for your job posts and careers page.
Drone footage of your yard and your projects
Structural steel and large fabrications look best from above. We're FAA Part 107 certified and can film your building, your yard, steel racks and trucks heading out, and, with the site's permission, a finished project being set in the field. We check the airspace for your address before shoot day. Read more about drone video for manufacturers.
How it works each month
One shoot day a month at your shop. From it we edit 12 videos and about 25 photos and post 3 times a week, and you approve every post before it goes out. The same plan covers your social profiles, a monthly email campaign to customers and distributors, and light website updates, so people who find you have somewhere to land. See everything on our marketing services page.
We don't promise a number of leads or followers. We promise the work, done every month, and a one-page monthly report showing what went out and how it did.
Fabricators across Chicagoland
We work with fabrication shops across Chicago and the suburbs, from the O'Hare area to the west and south suburbs, plus Northwest Indiana and southern Wisconsin. Your shop is a short drive away, which makes a monthly shoot day easy to fit around your schedule. Near O'Hare? See manufacturing video in Elk Grove Village.
Where to start
No contract, nothing to sign
A free consultation, then a free 2-week audit and start: we audit your website, email list and social pages, send you a short written list, then fix the first items on it and get your first posts live. The shoot day starts with the first paid month.
Keep going only if you want after the free 2 weeks.
No card up front. No contract. Cancel any month.
Fab shop video questions
Do we need a big shop to make good video?
No. A clean bay, a couple of machines running and real parts are enough. Smaller job shops often make great footage because everything is close together.
We mostly do structural steel. Is that a fit?
Yes. Fit-up, welding, large assemblies and loading out on flatbeds all film well, and drone footage of a finished project in the field, with the site's permission, is some of the best content a structural shop can post.
Will filming slow down production?
No. We work around your schedule, follow your safety and PPE rules, and stay out of the way of your crew, your cranes and your equipment.
What about customer parts and drawings?
You tell us what's off-limits and it stays off camera. You also approve every post before it goes out.
How do we get started?
Start with a free consultation: a 30-minute call or visit about what your marketing needs. Then a free 2-week audit and start: we audit your website, email list and social pages, send you a short written list, then fix the first items on it and get your first posts live. If you keep going, there's a shoot day every month. No card up front, no contract.
